Do you want to save a little money for clothes or furniture while supporting a worthy cause? Look no further than the Evansville Rescue Mission Thrift Store.
Located at 2420 Washington Avenue, our thrift store has a little bit of everything for everyone ranging from gently-used clothing (infant to adult sizes) to furniture pieces, used appliances, linens and a variety of knick-knacks. Our prices are comparable to other thrift stores, if not better.
What makes our thrift store unique is that we do not have any Rescue Mission staff on payroll at the thrift store. Community volunteers and residents of our long-term residential program oversee the store’s operations on a day-to-day basis. As a result, our residents learn invaluable retail experience, are given autonomy to make operational decisions and have the opportunity to interact with the general public.
Additionally, you’ll be happy to know your thrift store purchase will directly benefit the different ministries of the Evansville Rescue Mission allowing us the privilege of meeting the needs of the homeless, troubled teenagers, disadvantaged youth, and unfortunate families.
Similar to our Residence Center, we can be a little low on certain items from time to time. Please refer to this needs list for making donations. All donations can be dropped off at our thrift store during the following business hours:
- Monday: 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
- Tuesday: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Wednesday: 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
- Thursday: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Friday: 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Saturday: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
- Sunday: CLOSED
